I've loved Erma Bombeck since I first discovered one of her books (If Life Is A Bowl Of Cherries...) in a dusty box in the basement of one of my foster homes. Her writing was succinctly brilliant. Even as an eleven year old I recognized her genius immediately.
Earlier today I came across this post from Happiness Virus's blog which shared what Erma Had to say about life and regrets.
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded.
I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
Those three things speak to me in a special way. Three things that I've been guilty of in the past but will never be guilty of again.
I think I'll pick up one of her books today too.
Namaste,
